About
About Weldon Marine
Weldon Marine is a set of boating calculators made and run by WeldonPC.com. It does not sell, repair, broker, insure or charter boats, and it is not a marine business you can visit or call.
It does four sums that skippers of small recreational boats do before leaving the dock: fuel and range under the one-third rule, passage time, anchor rode and swing circle, and prop slip. The Boat Card keeps your boat's numbers and your fill-ups, so the fuel burn you plan with is the one your boat actually showed.
Where the rules come from
- The one-third rule for fuel and the 5-to-7-times rule for anchor line: U.S. Coast Guard, A Boater's Guide to the Federal Requirements for Recreational Boats (PDF pages 43 and 40), read 2026-10-09.
- Everything else is arithmetic, shown under each result.
What it is not
It is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, the U.S. Coast Guard. It gives no weather, charts, positions or navigation advice, and cannot know your boat, load or conditions. Use the numbers as a starting point and check them against your own boat and manual. For local waters ask a marina or harbormaster, for an engine that burns more than it used to ask a marine mechanic, and for the basics take a boating safety course.
Weldon Marine runs by itself: there are no staff, no email and no AI. The public pages carry one banner from AdEngine, WeldonPC's own small ad network, which for now shows WeldonPC's own services; Boat Card pages never do (see Privacy).
